Ultra-marathon, as a sport, has become famous during the last two decades. This category contains mostly the distances over 50 km, including the Vienna-Budapest race as well. There are more and more ultra-distance races organised in Hungary having more participants both in the individual race and the relay. This is a real endurance sport with great battles and wonderful feelings. For those who complete the race in a team, i.e. in the relay, it is an incredible, forging experience.

Besides its hard sport value the race is also a great party, filled with great meetings, good stories and adventures and friendships that last for years. We would like to make the race – due to its characteristics – more open for Europe to introduce different cultures and to make the local historical and natural values of the three countries known.

Furthermore our aim is to introduce the wonderful environment created by the Danube and - besides classical racing - to get more sport fans involved as well in the frameworks of a trip or family programs joining the stages of the race.

If you have not tried it, it is time to give it a chance! You will see it will a great experience for you. Perhaps today you are a helper, perhaps next year you will be a racer, and perhaps …, as some examples have proven it.

You could do everything following a beautiful route in three countries, with the encouragement of nice people.

Goal of the race:

Hard challenge, sport fights, demonstrating you for yourself and others, battle with the distance, battle with time. Getting to know three countries, three capitals, strengthening international sport-friendships and the relation of the counties of the European Union. Campaigning and giving example regarding healthy lifestyle.

Planned route (approx. 321 km):

Day 1: Vienna-Bratislava (approx. 92 km)

Day 2: Bratislava-Győr (approx. 84 km)

Day 3: Győr-Tata (approx. 64 km)

Day 4: Tata-Budakeszi (approx. 60 km)

Day 5: Budakeszi-Budapest (approx.21 km)

EVENTS:

INDIVIDUAL: women, men and absolute

RELAY: teams of 4+1 women or men

The stages of more or less similar length must be completed according to the conditions specified in the race regulations. Each team may enter 1 person as a substitution, who may take part in the stage of the day after a preliminary note in the place of one runner having a rest day.

OTHER CATEGORIES:

- cycling (individual, tandem, handback, ...) tour

- rollerblade tour

- running: relay of two

- family relay running

- party running (members can alternate at any time)

TIME LIMIT: the Organising Committee specifies a time limit for the racers in the Race Regulations. For those completing the distance as a tour there is no time limit.

TERMS OF PARTICIPATIONS: entitled for the participation those who apply until the given deadline, pay the nomination fee, accept the Race Regulation and are healthy.

Each participant may start at his and her own risk. There are MEDICAL and DOPING controls during the race. Everyone is obliged to cooperate if called.

NOMINATION PERIOD: Between 01 June and 30 September 2011

PAYING THE NOMINATION FEE: Between 15 August and 30 September 2011

Paying the fee after the nomination deadline can be accepted with 10% extra charge only. We cannot refund the paid nomination fee after 30 September.

The organisers guarantee the security of organising the race by the bank guarantee issued by Unicredit Bank Hungary Zrt.

NOMINATION FEE: 32,000 HUF + VAT/person

This sum includes: right to start at the race, starting number, refreshment during the race, massage, medical care, technical security, medal for achievement, T-shirt, cost of a pasta-party.

In case of the other categories (cyclist helper, touring, roller-blade skater) the proposed sum is 3,000 HUF/person/day (the sum is being adjusted).

In case of party running, over five members, 3,000 HUF/person/day (the sum is being adjusted).

ACCOMMODATION AND EATING FACILITIES: We make accommodation offers on our website until 20 June 2011, i.e. we mark the possible – in our opinion - accommodation facilities (type A, B C) of the given region. They have fix pricing which can be employed through the confirmation of race participation. Accommodation is to be arranged individually.

For special request we may book accommodation. Dishes (breakfast and dinner) are also to be arranged individually.

Based on the preliminary arrangements, subject to our possibilities, the prizes are the following.

PRIZES: The medallist of the women, men and the relay (just teams of five) races get prize money according to the following: /In case of teams the sums are valid only if there is at least 10 teams in the given category./

sums are in HUF and are net amounts

(Over the prize of the absolute man and woman race first to sixth place, the winner of the 45-55-year-old and the over-51-year-old categories get prized separately as well – under agreement)

The Organising Committee deserves the right to give other prizes.
